More Homemade Christmas

Here is a lacewood and bubinga valet tray I made as a present for my dad this Christmas.

Here is the completed robot toy I made for my kids this Christmas. It has a magnetic hand and a 360 degree swivel head. It rolls fast too.

    Nice looking tray. Bubinga?

I bought a “charging station” to hold our phones, etc. It has a drawer for keys and wallets. I like it and am glad to have it, but I’m guessing you could make one as nice, or better.

So, I guess that makes me a lazy, packaged-food eating, and buy-instead-of-make-it slob.

Jason, the walls are lacewood, the tray bottom (inside and out) is bubinga. The dovetails are less than perfect. They were my second attempt at dovetailing. I had just gotten my early Christmas present, a wonderful dovetail jig set.

Does your charging station use induction? I’ve been curious about those. How effective is it? If only Tesla had kept his funding and Edison wasn’t such a dirty trickster, we might all be benefiting from his most radical theory of wireless power transfer for all.
